Eye Conditions Caused by Diabetics

We all understand how important our eye sight is for us. Without being able to see, we would not have been able to achieve most of the things we have accomplished up to date. But with age our eye sight may not remain as good as it was in the beginning. Any eye clinic in Dubai recommends a regular eye check to be able to identify any issues early at which stage treatments can easily be carried out.
Sometimes eye conditions may be caused because of other health issues like diabetics. Any eye surgeon in Dubai would have handled a cataract surgery. Sometimes cataract eye conditions are also caused by diabetes.
Ebsaar is a well know eye surgery center in Dubai which has handled many diabetics related eye conditions in Dubai. Commonly the blood vessels in the eyes get damaged when the level of blood sugar goes high above the normal level. This leads to retinopathy, the longer an individual has diabetics the more likely he or she is to get this condition.
If the condition is left untreated it can lead to the growth of new blood vessels over the retina. This can lead to the development of scar tissue, which will pull the retina of the eye away. This condition (retinal detachment) can eventually lead to blindness which even Eye surgery in Dubai may not be able to rectify 100%.
Another eye condition known as glaucoma can also be caused as a cause of diabetics when any blood vessels start to grown on the eye iris. Research has shown that it is 25 times more likely for patients with diabetics to lose their vision than those without diabetics.
Diabetic retinopathy is a common condition among many diabetic patients, but not all would be faced with this eye condition. This may not show any early symptoms and you may not see any changes in the vision initially, but once it develops it can lead to be complete blindness. One of the early symptoms would be floaters. Difficulties in reading and having to look at the book or screen very closely can also be early symptoms of fluid build-up in the retina.
If you or one of your family members has diabetics consult your eye doctor today for a check-up and early diagnosis.
